Ubuntu Therapy
Providing remote psychotherapy and mental health consultations to expats living and working abroad.
Hello, my name is TaShawndra Govan and I am a LMHC (licensed mental health counselor) having graduated from Georgia State University in 2013. I have lived overseas for the last 10 years and have extensive experience working with expats who are living and working in different countries. I have also worked with clients who are local in their respective countries who were not able to find local mental health professionals.
I am a culturally competent and trauma-informed mental health provider and advocate. I believe that cultural competency is central to helping individuals and families of color feel safe; providing space where concerns are not downplayed and symptoms are not misinterpreted.
I am a good fit for people who struggle with unhealthy parent-child relationships often stemming from a history of substance use, domestic violence, abandonment, neglect, grief/loss and other disruptive family patterns and behaviors.
I understand it takes courage to seek treatment and disclose uncomfortable situations with someone. Therefore, I applaud you on this start of your journey towards wellness.

Clients (11+) located on the African continent take priority but I work with anyone needing support who doesn’t have access to it in their country. Must be English-speaking.
